Greetings one and all. You’re more than likely here because I’ve spammed your social media feeds, but hey ho.

Back in 2014 I made a half arsed attempt to create a blog format of my old website that I started back in the 1990s. Back then it was the Sugar Coated Lightning Seeds Website at http://www.lightning-seeds.co.uk – I kept it going for about twelve years and changed the name to The Works of Ian Broudie. Then I fell out with my domain provider, the website ceased to be and then I fell out with the internet in general. My interest in the Lightning Seeds has never waned, but life got in the way of actually getting anything written about them, let alone run a site / blog about them, but there’s some spare time these days, so it may as well be about my favourite subject.

It’s now February 2024. The Lightning Seeds came back in 2022 with a brand new album and tour to support, and a recent stint supporting Madness again.  Ian released his biography “Tomorrow’s Here Today” last year and this year the Lightning Seeds celebrate the 35th anniversary of the debut single “Pure”. A new greatest hits compilation and UK tour are highlights to look forward to. My interest in writing again is back and my general writing / waffling mojo appears to be back too. I’ve also joined Mat Read in doing a podcast for the Lightning Seeds giving views, insights and much more. 

The aim of this blog is not to bombard you with every bit of up to date news, the official channels and all the socials have all that licked. What I plan to do here is upload archive stuff, focusing on the discographies, period reviews and interviews, rarities and a reintroduction of the Rarity of the Month I used to do on the website back in t’day. It’s always a work in progress so please keep checking back.
